The Power of Dual-Wavelength: Combining UVA and UVC in One Module

Innovation in UV technology has led to the development of "Hybrid" modules. By combining UVC (275nm) and UVA (395nm), manufacturers can solve two problems at once.

1. Safety and Indication

UVC light is invisible to the human eye. By adding UVA LEDs, you provide a visible blue/violet glow that tells the user the device is active, preventing accidental exposure.

2. Photocatalytic Oxidation (PCO)

In air purifiers, UVA can be used to trigger a Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) filter to remove VOCs and odors, while the UVC band kills the DNA of airborne viruses.

3. Enhanced Sterilization

Some studies suggest that multi-band UV exposure can be more effective at preventing cellular repair in certain bacteria than a single wavelength alone.
